‘Paradise’ Kitten Up for Adoption
One of two feral kittens finally took the bait and is now on its way to be adopted through the Humane Society.
The beautiful approximately 4-month-old tuxedo with a long black coat reminds us of a ragdoll breed. Both it and its sibling call the Boardwalk by the Paradise Gift Shop their home. They have been slowly getting socialized by visitors and tourists who notice them playing in the dunes or lounging by the stairs.
One of the many feeders along the Boardwalk helped Laurie Peterson, Cats of the Boardwalk founder, contain the kitten. Efforts are ongoing to trap its sibling.
There are at least 20 cats which call Myrtle Beach’s Boardwalk and Promenade their home. Cats of the Boardwalk, along with the municipality’s Animal Control Officer Trott, work together to perform TNR services and educate the public about their efforts.
